Abu didn’t seem to feel the same as Aladdin but ends up giving his portion to the children as well.Ī short time later there is a man seen riding into town wearing jewels and riding a horse toward’s the Sultan’s palace. He sees the kids and decides that he doesn’t need the bread more than they do and he gives the bread to the children, who are very grateful to him. One day as Aladdin and Abu are about to eat some freshly acquired bread he notices two small children digging through the trash for food. However, this relief soon turns to fear as the cave swallows him whole and then tells the dark stranger to seek out the diamond in the rough. As Gazeem takes his first step inside the cave, he breathes a sigh of relief that he is still alive. The dark stranger’s talking parrot, Iago suggests that the man Gazeem is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Gazeem, the thief, turns to the dark stranger looking for advice and the stranger urges him in. The cave warns that only one whose worth lies far within or a diamond in the rough, may enter the cave. After asking who woke him up from his dirt nap, the small man tells the “ Cave of Wonders” his name and that he is but a humble thief. The two quickly follow the trail of the strange beetle looking object that soon transforms an ordinary sand dune into a giant tiger shaped cave. The man claims that he had to go through a lot to acquire the object he is to hand over. We see this dark stranger on a horse in a desert meeting up with another man who is apparently late for their rendezvous. He shows a dusty old lamp and warns not to judge the lamp by its appearance because it changed a young man’s life and begins to tell the tale. After trying to sell everything in his collection, to no avail, he says the listener must be interested in the “exceptionally rare”.
